Chief Executive Officer
Julianne Parkinson was appointed CEO of the GCMA in April 2018.
Previously, Julianne was the Executive Director of the Office of the Economic Development Board, an independent advisory body to the South Australian Government on economic issues and initiatives. It was in this role that Julianne contributed to the Shaping the Future of South Australia – Ageing Well program – an initiative to better understand and change the perception of ageing and turn the State’s ageing population into an opportunity rather than a burden.
With more than 25 years’ experience including leadership roles with global financial and management consulting firms, Julianne specialises in strategic planning, business development and complex stakeholder engagement.
She has worked extensively with clients operating in government, corporate and private sectors and undertaken engagements across Australia and the South-East Asia region.
Julianne is a fellow and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Course, and is a Board Director of Brand South Australia and a Board Member of the UniSA Post-Graduate Advisory Board.
She also holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of South Australia.
Executive Director, LifeLab
Ms. Veera Mustonen is the Executive Director, Global Centre of Modern Ageing LifeLab at Tonsley Innovation District.
Prior to that Veera was head of Smart Kalasatama, a large scale smart city district program in Helsinki, Finland. Through the living lab work she was leading, more than 1,000 residents participated in 2016 – 2017 in many smart product and service development pilots with companies in the district. Veera was also appointed Deputy CEO of her company, Forum Virium Helsinki, city owned innovation agency for digital services.
Veera has also held positions the ICT industry and academy, focusing on user experience in complex systems. For a decade she worked in Nokia, leading user experience work, smartphones portfolio planning and mobility development. She has also held positions as eLearning Manager (Sanoma), as Consumer Researcher (National Consumer Research Centre) and as Usability Consultant.
Veera is trained as a cognitive scientist and is currently a Ph.D candidate at Aalto University, Helsinki.
