Shaping the Future of South Australia - Ageing Well
More than 1500 South Australians across government, education, business and community participated in a series of forums and ‘think tanks’ which generated 20 key ideas to support an ‘ageing well’ economy as part of the Shaping the Future of SA – Ageing Well program in 2016.
The COTA Plug-In is a community of older people who are willing to be “plugged in” to research and innovation about services and products targeting older people.
Launched in 2017, the Plug-In concept was designed to provide feedback and help with the design of new technology, services, policy and products that support ageing well.

The theme of the ITAC 2018 conference – Co-Designing our Digital Future emphasises the importance of assistive technology supporting service quality and independence. The conference will bring together local and international experts across the fields of community care, medication management, assistive technologies and offsite information systems delivery. These critical aged care topics will be discussed from a practical perspective, highlighting the information we need to know now to better manage and design aged care service delivery which will deliver on the evolving environment of enhanced consumer choice.
The Ageing Well Revolution
South Australia spearheaded the national dialogue on Ageing Well and cemented its position as a global leader in the sector as host of the first ever Ageing Well Revolution Conference in 2017.
An initiative of the State Government’s Economic Development Board, the Conference connected international experts in social and business innovation with thought leaders from SMEs, industry, the corporate sector and social enterprises to help them maximise opportunity in the ageing market.
