Show us what ‘Ageing Well’ looks like to you - and win!

In an effort to challenge prevailing stereotypes on ageing, and celebrate the diverse reality of growing older in Australia, the Global Centre for Modern Ageing® is delighted to announce a nationwide photography competition, in partnership with New Idea magazine.

Imagery of later life often depicts two binary extremes, portraying older individuals as either exceedingly frail, or boundlessly active and adventurous.

Our competition seeks to redress this imbalance, inviting older Australians to share pictures and brief stories that authentically reflect the varied, and genuine experiences of their day-to-day lives.

We are offering $500 for the winner, and two prizes of $250 for runners-up.

How to Enter:

  1. Strike a Pose!

Capture a moment that reflects your zest for life. It could be dancing, learning a new skill, travelling, or simply laughing with loved ones.

  2. Share your story

Along with your photo, tell us in 25 words or less how you’re embracing life, without letting age hold you back.

  3. Submit and win!

Visit the competition webpage to fill out the form, upload your picture and submit the entry.

Terms and conditions apply.
Competition ends 11:59pm AEST/AEDST on 30 Oct. 2023.
