What is Modern Ageing?
From the moment we’re born, we’re ageing.
But the traditional concept of ageing isn’t just about getting older, it’s about being old. It’s about becoming less important, less competent, less useful and less current. It hinders reputations and limits capabilities.
Modern Ageing changes that notion and sparks an inclusive future that engages people throughout the whole of life’s course to participate and belong in the ways they value.
Instead of working until retirement and then becoming ‘old’, Modern Ageing will see our lives play out in phases, each phase representing a different opportunity to contribute to society in a meaningful way - through work, learning, enterprise, community contribution, leadership and more.
Modern Ageing will change ‘burden’ to ‘opportunity’ and ultimately reinvigorate the ageing population to live longer, healthier and happier lives while bringing benefit to communities and economies globally.
